Fall Pride Week: Sun Devils proud to be who they are

October 11, 2018

LGBTQ+ Fall Pride Week at ASU launched this week with student-led celebrations and gatherings focusing on everything from fitness to politics to family relationships.

The festivities started with a tie-dye party at ASU’s West campus and will conclude with the Rainbows Festival on the Downtown Phoenix campus Oct. 20–21. In between, Rainbow Coalition groups will celebrate National Coming Out Day, Latino pride and more.

Students celebrate LGBT Pride at an ASU event

David Callahan, a senior psychology major and programming facilitator with the Rainbow Coalition, said he is looking forward to highlighting LGBTQ+ positivity through a project across all four ASU campuses in which gender-affirming messages will appear on bathroom mirrors.

"Pride is important to celebrate so that everyone in the LGBTQIA+ community can have a chance to show how proud they are to be who they are. It also gives those who don't have that voice a chance to speak up," said Callahan.

Check out a selection of fall Pride Week events below as well as the full events calendar. And make sure to show your pride this fall, Sun Devils!
