ASU Student Life editor's picks: Best of Connor Newton

2 minutes

Hi, my name is Connor Newton, and I just graduated from Arizona State University with a bachelor’s degree in film and media production with a concentration in producing. I also have a business minor.

I worked at ASU Student Life for almost three years, and it was an amazing part of my college experience. As a videographer, I have gotten the opportunity to learn and grow through a variety of projects during my time here.

Here are a few of my favorite videos that I have made or worked on at Student Life!

Haunted ASU

Halloween is one of the most fun and spooky times of the year. ASU has more than a few haunted spots on campus. One of my favorite projects was creating the Haunted ASU series, where we explored these spooky spots across multiple campuses.

Sun Devil Roundnet

Outside of Student Life, my favorite part of attending ASU was Sun Devil Roundnet. Roundnet is a growing two-versus-two sport more commonly known as Spikeball. While at Student Life, I had the opportunity to create a video profiling the roundnet club at ASU.

Life Snhacks

When school became virtual in the early days of the pandemic, the potential student-centered video content I could create became much more limited. I had to think outside the box and decided to create a short series about making quick and yummy snacks while at home. Enjoy Life Snhacks!

SDFC Kids Camp

During the summer, the Sun Devil Fitness Complex offers a summer camp for kids around the Valley. The camp is staffed by ASU students, and I was one of those student workers a couple of years ago. Here is a video I made for Student Life about the students running the camp and why they enjoy it.

Campus Questions: Advice from Sun Devils

I worked on quite a few Campus Question videos during my early days at Student Life, but this one was by far my favorite. Listening to all the students share their advice was super inspiring, especially from the graduates.
