Get involved at ASU

As students make ASU their home, it is important for them to take advantage of various opportunities across campus to maximize their time at their new school. These opportunities range from jobs, social groups, clubs and other forms of involvement across campus.

One of the best ways to get involved is to join clubs and student organizations. Through clubs, students can connect with people both in and outside of their major who have similar interests. Clubs can range from academic to social, and even professional. ASU makes it easy to access events through Sun Devil Central — a one-stop hub for anything student organization related.

Another great way to establish lifelong friendships is to join fraternity and sorority life. In Greek life, students can form connections while gaining networking and leadership skills. It’s a great way to engage in social activities and build a lifetime network of support.

With more than 65 Greek-lettered student organizations, ASU is one of the strongest community-based campuses in the nation. Greek life allows students to give back through philanthropic efforts and set high academic standards for themselves as they thrive in a community driven environment. Recruitment ends in the early fall and starts up again in the spring semester.

There is also a way for students to become directly involved with residence life through the Residential Hall Association (RHA). This allows students to develop leadership and service skills while making an impact on their community.

RHA is one of the largest organizations on campus and is centered around four pillars that establish a fun, safe and effective environment for on-campus students. Students are always welcome to attend their meetings every Wednesday at 6 p.m. at the John W. Schwada Building in room 228.

Forge friendships through ASU’s eight Student Coalitions, which are groups established to generate impact and lead students in the ASU community. Through events, leadership opportunities and other activities — students can find community and sense of belonging.

Beyond academics and professional preparation, ASU helps students thrive with Sun Devil Fitness and Wellness. Facilities such as the Sun Devil Fitness Complex are low cost and offer a plethora of workout classes and resources to complement any student’s wellness journey.

For students who want a hands-on way to make a difference, Changemaker is the perfect place for them. Through social entrepreneurship and innovative resources on campus, students can create everlasting change.

Students can become involved in civic engagement, sustainability initiatives and more through Changemaker at ASU. Furthermore, Changemaker offers grants for students who have innovative ideas that strive to make a change, making it possible for them to win up to $2,000 to start their own initiative, project or startup.

These are some of the endless ways that ASU students can become more involved in her campus. From charity work and student coalitions, to Greek Life — it’s impossible to get bored at ASU!
