From April 2-10, Greek Week will take over Arizona State University's Tempe campus and other Valley locations in an effort to support the Valley of the Sun United Way (VSUW) and to build camaraderie among ASU's Fraternity and Sorority Life (FSL) organizations.

"This year is the 52nd year of Greek Week and Greek Sing, which offer opportunities to celebrate and promote the spirit, values and unity of the Fraternity and Sorority Life community," said Mary Flora, leadership and programming coordinator for Fraternity and Sorority Life at Arizona State University.

Greek Sing takes place on April 10 at 6:30 p.m. at ASU Gammage in Tempe.

Since 2014, ASU has partnered with Valley of the Sun United Way to help support the Maricopa County community’s mission to end hunger and homelessness, increase children’s access and success in the classroom, promote financial literacy and stability and more recently provide rent assistance and bridge the digital divide for local schools.

Since the start of the partnership, the FSL community has raised over $280,000 for VSUW initiatives. Leading up to and during Greek Week, there will be a number of percentage nights and other small fundraisers to continue providing support to this community organization.

For 2022, the Greek Week theme is "Game On."

"This includes all games, from Mario Kart to Clue to capture the flag," said Flora. "Our student committee has been planning since January on a week full of events."

The Greek Week events include a Devils in Disguise community service event, Fraternity and Sorority Life Honors celebration, a blood drive, capture the flag, a trivia night, a staff appreciation day and a Diamondbacks game.

The final event, Greek Sing, takes place on April 10 at 6:30 p.m. at ASU Gammage in Tempe. Limited tickets are available for purchase on April 10 at the Greek Leadership Community Center

"Teams will be showcasing their 10-minute performances, which have dancing and acting and tie in all the Greek Week events," said Flora. "A group of seven judges will be deciding who wins. At this event, we also honor VSUW and present them with a check for the money we raised during this week."
