Join the ranks of royalty at Homecoming

Homecoming is just around the corner, filled with exciting traditions like the Lantern Walk, family activities, the big football game and of course, the parade where the homecoming king and queen take center stage as model Sun Devils of Arizona State University. However, this title is not as far out of reach as many suspect, and you can nominate anyone you like, even yourself!
Homecoming kings and queens will get to participate in a wide variety of activities, not just limited to events during homecoming (although that is one of the most exciting parts). Aside from being featured in the biggest homecoming events such as the parade, block party and football game, they will serve as ambassadors of ASU during other large events such as The Pitchfork Awards, athletic events across the campuses, and more.
Candidates must have at least a 2.5 cumulative GPA and be a full-time undergraduate or graduate student. Aside from devotion to academics, they must also demonstrate excellence in all aspects of their lives. Each candidate will be evaluated by ASU alumni and faculty not only by their application or nomination materials, but also by leadership, scholarship, involvement, poise, and personality.
“Ideal candidates for the Homecoming Court will be enthusiastic, energetic, goal-oriented, involved, in good conduct standing, and academically successful students. Court candidates will be well-rounded, must exhibit leadership skills, and will possess the ability to work well within a team setting.”

There will be eight homecoming kings and queens in total (one king and queen for each campus) that will each participate in a series of events before they are officially crowned. If you want to nominate another person, go to this nomination Google form and fill in their relevant information along with a short statement explaining how they have contributed to the ASU community and why you think would be a good fit.
If you want to submit your own application, the process takes slightly longer. Go to the application Google form and aside from your basic information, be sure to attach a one page resume and answer a few simple questions about what the ASU community means to you and how you hope to contribute through ways such as leadership, service, inclusivity, and more. Applications close on Oct. 16 so be quick! Once you have submitted your responses, be on the lookout for a follow-up email about interviews that will happen between Oct. 20 -26, and then wait patiently for the Lantern Walk on Nov. 20 where the kings and queens will be crowned under scenic lights amongst crowds of excited Sun Devils, old and new.
